“The best singer won”
“The Voice”, NBC’s hit singing contest, concluded last night and crowned Chris Blue as the grand prize winner of the show.
This is the first win for coach Alicia Keys, making her the second female to win after Christina Aguilera won with Alisan Porter in Season 9.
Blue has been a favorite of many for some time so it was really not much of a surprise when he was officially acknowledged as the winner of season 12. Lauren Duski came in second, with third place going to 15 year old Aliyah Moulden and fourth to rocker Jesse Larson.
Mark Isaiah revisited the show to join Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi to sing “Despacito”, Fonsi’s hit song. The song was remixed by Justin Bieber and he performed it with Luis on the Puerto Rican leg of his “Purpose Tour”.
Isaiah sang Bieber’s verse and chorus and showed why he is being tipped by some people as being one of the biggest stars to emerge from show.
But the night belonged to Chris Blue. Undoubtedly the best singer on the series, he stunned the coaches with his version of Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation”.
Chris’s dynamic dancing and faultless singing made a statement to the world that a new “Blue” star had risen and frankly, nobody came close to beating him.
The show has now wrapped till season 13 in September, when coaches Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani will be replaced by returning coach Miley Cyrus and season 3 advisor Jennifer Hudson. Can’t wait!
