TSoul, was born Terry Pinkard on February 3, 1987 in Richmond, Virginia. At the age of six, his grandmother would sit him at her piano and teach him how to play.
He graduated from high school in Northumberland country and was in the Virginia State University Gospel Chorale which gave him the opportunity to travel all over Europe to sing.
When he is not working on music, he helps his family’s catering business for extra income.

In The Voice U.S Season 12, NBC’s chart topping singing contest hosted by Carson Daley and premiered on February 27, 2017, TSoul is the strongest contestant under Blake Shelton’s team. His showstopping performance of ‘Take Me to the river’ in the blind auditions on The Voice wowed coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton who both turned their chairs. About his performance, Blake said,” Your voice is like 50 year old voice. Its all got the herbs and spices. He further said,” Thank You for bringing that here for us.”
In the knockout rounds TSoul performed a song with personal significance, “These Arms of Mine” by Otis Redding and after a shaky start managed to render a passable rendition of “Always on My Mind” by Willie Nelson in the Top 12 performances.
On the Live Playoffs, Night One, TSouls classic and smooth rendition of Eddie Woods old soul hit “Knock On Wood” encouraged his coach Blake Shelton to comment “If people didn’t like that, something’s wrong with them.”
TSoul was not picked during the live voting on April 17, the first time this season that there was live voting. However, Blake Shelton chose TSoul to move on to the best of 12.
